Serafina Martino

Serafina Martino is a dynamic, New York City-based vocalist and specialized therapist whose multi-faceted career seamlessly bridges the worlds of classical vocal tradition, contemporary theater, and vocal science. Originally from British Columbia, Canada, her musical journey is rooted in years of intensive training and diverse performances, spanning everything from early music masterpieces to cutting-edge contemporary opera. 

Equally at home in operatic narratives and intimate theatrical spaces, Serafina has brought her rich, versatile voice to several high-profile premieres. Her notable operatic achievements include the world premiere of El Greco at Teatro Hispanico, directed by the legendary Broadway visionary Tom O'Horgan, and Ralph Vaughan Williams' Hugh The Drover with Bronx Opera. On the off'Broadway stage, she was a featured vocalist in the compelling production of Extraordinary Measures at HERE Arts Center, written and directed by Tony Award-winner Eve Ensler  (V).

As a collaborative ensemble artist, Serafina's vocal precision earned her a spot in the elite choral group Musica Viva under the baton of the esteemed conductor Walter Klaus. As a solo storyteller and writer, she created and starred in her acclaimed one-woman show, Back On Base, at the historic cabaret venue Don't Tell Mama, and later charmed audiences with Let Yourself Go, a vibrant cabaret celebrating the music of Irving Berlin at 53 Above.

Serafina is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of her highly anticipated debut album, The Bergman Project, a monumental collaboration with the phenominal New York jazz pianist and composer Janice Friedman, marking a bold ,genre-fluid evolution in her recording career.

In addition to her performance career, Serafina is a highly sought-after manual therapist specializing in Vocal Laryngeal Therapy. Melding her deep understanding of performance with physiological science, she maintains a vital practice in New York, working directly with the elite NYC Broadway and Opera communities to rehabilitate, maintain, and optimize elite vocal health.
